In Islam, a strong and healthy Muslim is better than a weak Muslim. Al Muminat (The Believing Women), Somolu Local Government held her maiden edition of Medical Caravan last Saturday to reiterate this salient aspect of Islam.
The Medical Caravan which was held within the compound of Eva Adelaja Primary Health Centre, Bariga was attended by many participants regardless of their faith. Most of the participants are adult females.
The Outreach is part of a week-long event which started on Friday, August 18. The week-long event includes humanitarian visits to mentally challenged individuals at Lady Atinuke Memorial Home, Professional Forum, Community Service and Project launch of a Borehole amongst others.
The Outreach witnessed an estimated number of 220 participants, who benefitted from the healthcare services rendered free of charge. A health talk on the topic “Arthritis: Symptoms, Prevention and Care” was delivered by an experienced physiotherapist, Dr Nusaybah Ismail-Bidmus at the early hours of the Outreach. Thereafter, participants proceeded for check-ups and free medical consultation.
Al Muminat also used the avenue to commence Hepatitis B vaccination for 69 participants courtesy of Emzor Vaccines ® at a subsidized rate.
Recall that the theme of Al Muminat 1445 AH week is “The Builder” and it was held simultaneously across all the 20 local governments in Lagos.
