The Markazud Da’awah Wath-Thaqoohfatil Islamiyyah on Thursday orientated her new members.
The programme was held at Poplat Central Mosque, OAU campus gate.
In his welcome speech, the Coordinator of Markazud Da’a wah, Mallam Awolumate Muiz said the orientation was aimed to make new members adjust to academic and Islamic life.
He urged the new members to abide by the rules and regulation of their institutions, stating that a good Muslim would respect constituted authority.
One of the guest speakers, Dr. Maruf Orewole who is also a notable Islamic writer who has written lots of Islamic books spoke on ‘Setting the academic goals’.
Dr Orewole intimated the new members on the significance of their admission to their institutions as one willed by Allah, despite the high competitiveness of the admission process to the school.
He went further to admonishing the new intakes to study hard to achieve their goals.
Meanwhile, he abjured those who might not have interest in their new courses by the virtue of having fallen short of their desirous chosen courses, to be thankful to Allah for being given something in lieu of nothing; stating that “whoever is ungrateful will never be successful.”
Corroborating, another guest of the day, Ustadh Idris Adebisi who is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile Ife spoke on “Between the two poles (Deen Wa Dunya).”
He admonished the new members to put Islam first to whatever they are doing in their respective campuses.
The event also featured brain teasing, interactive session and the ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries from all walks of life.
The new members appreciated the executives of Markazud Da’awah for organizing such event.
“I give thanks to Allah for making me part of this programme. I appreciated the organizers of this event, may Almighty Allah continue to be with you all. I have indeed learnt a lot here,” Yusuf Ibrahim, a new member said.
