What time could have been the best to honour the Noble Qur’an if not the month in which Allah revealed it to our beloved Prophet Muhammad as a guide to mankind?” These were the words of the Coordinator of Standard Bearers Islamic Organization (SB) Ile Ife branch, Mallam Fatai Taiwo Hassan while addressing our correspondent on Friday that the organization has mapped out plans to hold an online Qur’an competition for over 500 Osun Muslim Students during Ramadan.
The event, with the already trending hashtag #Recite&Take Food To Mama# is part of the organization’s cooperate social responsibility for the Muslims during this Ramadan in Coronavirus lockdown.
According to Mallam Hassan, “the online Qur’an competition has started and it will end at 12 midnight of 14th of Ramadan.
“Muslim Students in Osun between the age of 10yrs to 25 years are expected to participate in the online Qur’an competition by making a video record of any 10 verses from Surah Waaqi’ah and put their names, schools, age and address and send it to these whatapp numbers (09018353120, 08103692449)
“All successful participants will be contacted. Food stuffs will be given to best 100 participants who recite the Qur’an well with tajwid while distribution will be across the redemption centres in Ile Ife, Ilesha and Akure /Owena.”
Mallam Fatai however seek assistance and donations from well meaning Muslims in order to make the event more realistic.
