There was a wild jubilation on Saturday evening in the ancient city of Yoruba land, Ile Ife as 17 teenagers emerged winners of Qur’an competition organized by Rawdatul-Tanzeel, a renowned Islamic institute based in the ancient city.
The competition which was organised for all the young students of the institute who are all between 9-19years of age was held at the premises of the Islamic institute at Aladala area in Ile Ife.
The reciters were tested and graded based on memorisation, recitation skills, confidence and neatness.
The 17 teenagers emerged in the various categories ranging from 15 Juz’hus, 10 Juz’hus, 8 Juz’hus, 5 Juz’hus, 3 Juz’hus and 1 Juz’hu.
Winners of 15 Juz’hus category are: Fatimoh Bello (first position, 95%) and Aasiyah Makinde (second position, 90%).
Winners of 10 Juz’hus are: Abdullah Moyosore (first position, 96%), Hafsoh Makinde (second position, 93%) and Muhammad Sulaymon (third position, 91%).
Winners of 8 Juz’hus are: Ibroheem Adedokun (first position, 95%), Roheemah Bashir (second position, 93%) and Abdullah Akanbi (third position, 92%).
Winners of the 5 Juz’hus are: Mu’adh Yahya (first position, 91%), Faruq Adekunle (second position, 88%) and Mu’adh Adefeso (third position, 87%)
Winners of the 3 Juz’hus are: Habideen Adekunle (first position, 89%), Ahmad Abdus-Salam (second position, 88%) and Al – Ameen Abdul Rahman (third position, 87%).
Winners of the 1 Juz’hu are: Sumayyah Adeboye (first position, 91%), Khodeejah Olowomojuore (second position, 90%) and Asma’u Shamsudeen (third position, 88%).
Meanwhile, our correspondent noted that the winners were given rewards and cash at the end of the Qur’an competition.
Ustaz Saheed Qomardeen, the Quran teacher of the Islamic institute who announced the results, commended all participants for their efforts in the competition, noting that they have done well.
Corroborating, Head, Board of directors of the Islamic institute, Ustaz Mutiu Uthman urged parents and well wishers to support for the growth of the Islamic institute.
