Mr. Oyelami Mutiu Kolade, the secretary of Arafat Islamic Centre, Ilesha, Osun State has reacted to the killing of a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Samuel who was burnt by irate youths in Sokoto.
Deborah, a level-two female student, was accused of making a social media post that blasphemed the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), a crime for which a mob killed her.
The horrendous event led to a great outcry, especially on social media outlets, with many Nigerians condemning the act and asking that law enforcement agents ensure that the perpetrators do not escape from the long arm of the law.
Joining many in their call for justice, Mr. Oyelami Mutiu Kolade in an interview with Dpath To Jannah Media Hub condemned the killing of Deborah Samuel.
He cautioned the Muslim youths against taking laws into their hands, adding that such is against what Islam stand for.

Can you please introduce yourself sir?
Mr. Oyelami Mutiu: By the virtue of introduction, I am Oyelami Mutiu Kolade
Can you tell us more about your background?
Mr. Oyelami Mutiu: I am a native of Ifon-Osun in Orolu local government in Osun State. I was born on 25th of July 1991. I had my primary and secondary school education in Ifon-Osun. I started my NCE program in 2012 and I graduated in 2015. In 2016, I proceeded for my degree program in University of Ibadan affiliated campus in Osun State College of Education in Ilesha and I graduated in 2019.
I finished serving my father’s land few months ago. I am married with a kid. I am the secretary of Arafat Islamic Centre, Ilesha, Osun State.
What do you do for a living?
Mr. Oyelami Mutiu: I am POS business man. I sell soft drinks and non-alcoholic drinks.
All right. What is your greatest challenge so far in life?
Mr. Oyelami Mutiu: There are greatest challenges so far in my life. My greatest challenge so far is financial problem. But Alhamdulilah, I have been able to conquer it gradually.
What is your greatest achievement so far in life?
Mr. Oyelami Mutiu: My greatest achievement is that I am born a Muslim.
As the secretary of Arafat Islamic Centre, what has been your achievement in helping the Muslims?
Mr. Oyelami Mutiu: As the secretary of Arafat Islamic Centre, I have been able to help the needy. I have been supporting the director in order to have the smooth running of the organization.
On the issue of alleged blasphemy that is currently trending in Sokoto, what is your view on it?
Mr. Oyelami Mutiu: Many have given positions on it Islamically and morally. This country doesn’t permit taking laws into our hands. The killing is wrong. Was Prophet Muhammad not insulted when he was alive? Was he not disrepected? What was his response? He never kill anyone because he insulted him, rather he engaged such individual and educate him or her to see the truth. There is no any rule in Islam that says we should kill whoever insults the Prophet.
What is your advice for the Muslim youths?
Mr. Oyelami Mutiu: The Muslim youths should always seek more knowledge about Islam
