Alhaji Ibraheem Abdulfatai Adesina, the Coordinator of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Ijesha Zone has condemned the killing of a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Samuel who was burnt by irate youths in Sokoto.
Deborah, a level-two female student, was accused of making a social media post that blasphemed the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), a crime for which a mob killed her.
The horrendous event led to a great outcry, especially on social media outlets, with many Nigerians condemning the act and asking that law enforcement agents ensure that the perpetrators do not escape from the long arm of the law.
Joining many in their call for justice, Alhaji Ibraheem Abdulfatai Adesina in an interview with Dpath To Jannah Media Hub said the action is barbaric and unislamic.
He cautioned the Muslim youths against taking laws into their hands, adding that such is against what Islam stand for.

Alhaji Ibraheem Abdulfatai: I have always been successful in all leadership roles given to me. I was the pioneer Chairman of Ilesa West Local Government Chapter of Muslim Islamic Cooperative and it is thriving today. I was the Pioneer Secretary of Nawair-ud-deen Society of Nigeria Youth Wing, Osun Zone with remarkable success. I was also the Pioneer President, Ogbon Youth Forum ((OYF) with remarkable success too. I am currently the Chairman, NUD Youth Wing, Ilesa Branch with unprecedented success. I am also the current COORDINATOR, NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA, IJESA ZONE with success.
On the issue of alleged blasphemy that is currently trending in Sokoto, what is your view on it?
Alhaji Ibraheem Abdulfatai: I consider it as barbaric and devilish
It is totally not Islamic.
What is your advice to the Muslim youths?
Alhaji Ibraheem Abdulfatai: As a Muslim & advocate of peace, I will advise as follows:
1. We should all educate our family on what Islam stands for; peace.
2. Western education is very important as well as skill acquisition for our youth.
3. The need for Islamic scholars to focus their teachings on the holy Quran & Haadith and stop spreading flame flaring, self built and peace distorting Sermons.
4. Parents are to teach their children how to act & react in any mixed society. Failure to do this, the arabic speaking fellows without required knowledge & wisdom will lead them astray.
5. Muslims should also know that there is no reward for jungle justice and killing of innocent soul.
6. Should also meditate on this verses of the Quran
Surah Al-Maeda, Verse 32:
For this reason did We prescribe to the children of Israel that whoever slays a soul, unless it be for manslaughter or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew all men; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept alive all men; and certainly Our apostles came to them with clear arguments, but even after that many of them certainly act extravagantly in the land.
Notice: Wilful killing of innocent is like killing a nation, rescue a person is like rescuing a nation.
Surah An-Nisa, Verse 111:
وَمَن يَكْسِبْ إِثْمًا فَإِنَّمَا يَكْسِبُهُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
And whoever commits a sin, he only commits it against his own soul; and Allah is Knowing, Wise.
Surah An-Nisa, Verse 112:
And whoever commits a fault or a sin, then accuses of it one innocent, he indeed takes upon himself the burden of a calumny and a manifest sin.
