Scores of Muslims in Osun State and others from various states are presently in Osogbo to attend the Holiday Islamic Course by the Standard Bearers Islamic Organization (SB) Osun state Branch.
Recall that our correspondent had earlier reported that the camping programme themed, ‘The Time Is Now’ which will start on December 23rd and end on December 27th, 2022, will be held at Laro Grammar School, Opposite Government House in Osogbo.
The organisers of the camp had said that preparations and all arrangements have been done to have a hitch-free camp.
They said that the camping programme will be full of thought-provoking and highly educative lectures, that will span through different aspects of Islam.
They said that the camping programme will also enhance networking opportunity, by allowing participants to meet their peers and front-liners in their chosen career and other things that interest them.
According to the release made by the organisers of the camp, ” The programmes that would be done during the camp are Tefseer, Fiqh, Hadith, Sports, Single Seminar, IT Seminar and lots more.
“The registration fee for secondary school students is #3500, for School leavers is #4000, for undergraduates is #4500 and others is #5000.”
Speaking with our correspondent, the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the camp, Mr. Olalekan Shuaeb Ajibade said the camp organisers are anticipating about a 1,000 delegates that are to be empowered spiritually and academically through soul inspiring lectures, motivational discussion on characters building and memorisation of Quran among others.
He explained that the theme of the camp “The Time Now” was selected because of the utmost need for Muslims and Nigerians to re-asses their actions for desired growth.
He recommended the need for Nigeria to return to the basis if the country must experience growth that would benefit the citizenry.
He added that the contribution of SB to the national development are enormous and these include serving as a potent tool of national unity and cohesion. While the society has remained a pressure group working for the advancement of Muslims and Islam.
He noted that the mandate of the organisation in Osun is to inculcate leadership skills and management training in youth in accordance with divine injunctions.
