The Standard Bearers Islamic Organization (SB), Osogbo branch, has successfully hosted a career training program, Career Expo 1.0, aimed at guiding secondary school students and school leavers yet to gain admission on their career paths.
The event, held at Etiosa Hall, Fountain University, Osogbo, on Sunday, September 29th, 2024, attracted over 200 participants, providing them with valuable insights on how to choose the right career.
It is also meant to guide secondary school students and school leavers who are yet to gain admissions on their career paths.
The program featured a series of lectures delivered by professionals from various fields, emphasizing the importance of self-discovery, passion, and perseverance in career selection.
Students were encouraged to avoid peer pressure when making career choices, while parents were advised to respect their children’s preferences, especially when those choices align with their abilities and interests.
Participants learned about the “3 P’s” of choosing a career – Passion, Perseverance, and Prayer – and were urged to seek the guidance of Allah in their decision-making processes.
Among the distinguished professionals present were Dr. Seriki A. Hide, a Consultant Family Physician; Mr. Saheed Amao, Branch Head of Zenith Bank Ilesha; Engr. Wasiu Olalekan Idowu, Senior Manager at Transmission Company of Nigeria; Lawyer Kareem Adekilekun from the Osun State Ministry of Justice; and Hajia Adekunle Taiwo Basheerah, a lecturer at UNIOSUN.
The career training event left a positive impact on the students, equipping them with practical knowledge and guidance to navigate their future career choices successfully.
