A renowned Ebira-born singer, Sharon Sonia, has announced her conversion to Islam, revealing four key reasons for her decision.
In an exclusive online post, Sonia shared her journey to Islam.
Sharon noted that she was raised in a mixed-faith family, with my mother being Christian and her father being aMuslim.
Sharon narrated that she grew up as a Christian because her mother brought her up that way.
She also noted that her father had previously encouraged her to convert, but she made this decision independently.
According to her, “Alhamdullilah for giving me the opportunity and privilege to see the light in His eyes.
“I was born into a Christian and Islam family. Mom was a Christian,and Dad was a Muslim.
“I grew up as a Christian because my late mom brought me up that way.
“Aside accepting my traditional name, practicing it, I was in love with the religion “ISLAM “.
“My dad once begged me to become a Muslim,but I didn’t change today because of Him.
“I am a Muslim today,because I choose to.
“I am a Muslim because I love the religion.
I am a Muslim because I want to know more about Allah.
“I’ve worn hijab for years without performing Salat. I’ve won hijab without taking kalima shahada.
“This morning,I called my brother Hi-Speed and told him I was ready.
“He called my other brothers and sister,they came and welcomed me into the peaceful home of love.
This doesn’t mean I am perfect. Gradually,God will perfect my believes and practices.”
She further said, “I Accepted Islam For 4 Reasons.
“I Accepted Islam To know more about Allah.
“To be properly buried after I get old and Allah calls.
” Because Islam is beautiful”
“Because of how they so much respect God!”
