Some Muslims in Ile Ife, Osun State on Wednesday observed Salat al-ghaib (Prayer in Absentia) for late Hamas’s political leader, Sheikh Ismail Haniyeh.
It was gathered that the late Haniyeh was killed on Wednesday in Iran’s capital Tehran.
At the Enuwa Central Mosque in Ile Ife, the Muslim faithful observed the Salatul Gaib for the Muslim personality after the Salutul Asr prayer by 4:20pm.
D2J correspondent witnessed that the prayer was led by Imam Abu Amar Orewole.
After fervent supplications to Allah for the repose of the soul of the deceased person, Imam Orewole took turns to shower encomiums on the deceased for his selfless and seamless contributions to the development of Islam and comfort of Palestinians.
