As the world marked the celebration of 2024 Children’s day today, May 27, 2024, Scores of Nigerians especially the Muslims have taken to their social media handles to lament the innocent killings of children in Gaza.
Dpath To Jannah reports that as at 2024, the number of children killed in Gaza are higher than from four years.
According to UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said that more children have been killed there in recent months than in four years of conflict worldwide.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, who described as “staggering” the latest Gaza health authority data indicating that at least 12,300 youngsters have died in the enclave in the last four months, compared with 12,193 globally between 2019 and 2022.
Reacting to the genocide killings of the innocent children in a statement by Kamoldeen Abiona, the Amir of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Lagos state unit, lamented over the killings of innocent children in Gaza.
He said, “It is with profound sadness and a sense of duty that we must reflect on the dire situation in Gaza. The massacre and genocide perpetrated by the State of Israel against Palestinians are grave injustices that the world recognises yet struggles to address effectively.
“The blockade of essential aid, the bombing of hospitals, and the killing of innocent women and children are acts of profound inhumanity. Despite these hardships, the determination and resilience of the Palestinians, coupled with their faith in Allah, provide a fervent reminder of the importance of preparedness, knowledge, and strength. May Allah grant the oppressed triumph over the oppressors, its allies and sponsors.”
