Ramadan Day 6&7: My lost self
At exactly 8:00am the next morning I packed my bag and kept a lot of snacks inside, I’ll have a lot to munch today…..yumyummm 😂The class started at 9:00am as usual as I kept munching my snacks,I went to the school cafeteria to buy a cold drink as I started gulping it down just in front of the cafeteria…I sighted Dr. Fatimah who looked at me with disappointment, shook her head and walked away…………..Oops!!Does Dr.Fatimah thinks I’ve forgotten the challenge? What do I do? Should I go and explain it to her or should I wait for her to call me?I kept thinking to myself 🤔 .What do I do? This thought kept disturbing and I finally decided to explain myself …..knock! knock!! Who’s there?-she asked. It’s my Aaliya,okay come in. Asalamualaikum ma-I greeted. walaykum salaam warahmatullah wabarakah tuh Aaliyah, how’re you doing?
I’m fine-I replied. How’s Ramadan going hope you haven’t broken the challenge?? No ma,I haven’t,but I’m on my period presently so I’m not fasting. Oh! I see,I was also wondering why you were gulping down juice in front of the cafeteria this afternoon. Aaliya -she said”Ramadan is a sacred month and all Muslims are instructed to fast in this sacred month. Whosoever that is not fasting is not expected to eat publicly because he has to respect the holy month. Even though you’re on your period,that doesn’t exclude you from engaging in other acts of worship. You can engage in more of Istigfar-which means asking for forgiveness and also giving out things to those that are fasting. I hope you got the message? she asked.Yes ma-I replied as I left for my next class…..hmmmm, does that mean I’m not allowed to munch my remaining snacks…Uffff……. that’s serious. I can always munch it under my desk-I concluded.
Ohh goodness!!, I’ll resume fasting tomorrow, Oh noo….. Do I have to start fasting again? I’m still enjoying this break of mine why does my period leaves so fast? Do I have to observe ghusl(ritual bath) again? Arghhh……..Anyways, I’ll still go partying tonight and think about the fast later-I concluded.
At exactly 12:00pm as usual,I went partying with my friends and came back home heavily drunk and exhausted, I fell on my bed and slept off……..
Will she wake up early? How about her ghusl?What if she doesn’t meet to eat sahuur?will she be missing the fast?
