The Federal Government has officially declared Wednesday, September 27, as a public holiday in honor of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Monday night in Abuja, acting on behalf of the government.
In a statement released by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, the Minister extended warm congratulations to Muslim faithful both within the country and abroad who are marking this year’s occasion.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged all Nigerians to embrace the values of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance, which are fundamental spiritual virtues embodied by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Furthermore, the Minister called upon the youth to embrace hard work and foster peaceful coexistence with their fellow citizens, regardless of faith, ideology, social class, or ethnicity. He emphasized the importance of working together with President Bola Tinubu to contribute to the nation’s progress and development.
