Muslim faithful in Osogbo and its environs will gather for a special prayer session on Sunday, August 18th, 2024, to seek divine intervention for a beneficial rainfall.
This initiative is led by the Grand Imam of Osogbo Land, Shaykh Musa Animasahun, who has called on all Muslims in the city to come together for this significant event.
In a statement issued by the Grand Imam’s office, all Jumaat leading Imams and their congregations, Ratibi Imams, Madrasat teachers, alasalatu groups, members of the Tijaniyah and Qadiriyah sects, the Muslim Students Society (MSS), Jamaat Ahlu Sunnah, and the broader Muslim community in Osogbo are invited to participate in the prayer.
The prayer session is set to take place at the New Eid ground on Ibokun Road, Osogbo, beginning promptly at 8:00 AM.
Shaykh Musa Animasahun emphasized the importance of unity in seeking Allah’s mercy for a peaceful and beneficial rainfall, particularly in this season of need.
The statement reads partly, “The Grand Imam invites all Jumaat leading Imaams and their jamaat, all Ratibi Imaams and their jamaat, all Madrasat, all alasalatu, the Saidas, all Tijaniyat, all Qadiriyat, the MSS, Jamaat Ahlu Sunnah, all Muslims in Osogbo land to the special prayer to invoke for a beneficial raining.”
