On of the key lessons you’ll learn walking and working with me is the art of letting go. After all, you can’t unring a bell. This doesn’t mean I give up easily; it means I move on quickly.
I understand that my stress, my shouts, and my pain won’t bring back the train that has already moved.
When I make mistakes, I own up to them and ask myself: Can I fix them? What can be done? And what are my chances?
Sometimes, I get useful answers that help me move forward, but other times, I just accept that some things are beyond my control.
There are days when I cry and shout, but those moments are brief. I embrace change and avoid being bogged down by what I can no longer change or retrieve. Just as a train that has left the station is out of our reach, the moments, opportunities, or people who have moved on from our lives deserve a respectful farewell.
You’ve probably taken wrong turns and maybe they have put you in pain; the mistakes were costly and the loss was great. But please, let them go! Bid farewell and say a final goodbye. Holding onto past regrets only hinders your growth and happiness.
Instead, focus on the road ahead. Take a good look at the highway, position yourself well, and wait patiently for another train. You never know, it might even be more spacious and better suited to your journey.
Islam emphasizes personal responsibility and making efforts over things while leaving the outcome to be sorted by Allah. This balance is captured in the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): “Tie your camel and trust in Allah” (At-Tirmidhi). This means that one should take necessary precautions and actions but ultimately trust Allah with the results(Tawakkul).
Tawakkul means having complete reliance on Allah’s wisdom and power and understanding that whatever happens is part of His divine plan. This includes accepting circumstances that are beyond one’s control and focusing on other things.
Life is full of new opportunities waiting to be seized, but you must be ready and willing to embrace them. Remember, there’s no use locking the stable door after the horse has bolted. It is what is!
Release yourself from the chains of the past and give yourself peace.
Life is too short to dwell on what could have been. Embrace the present and look forward to the future with hope and optimism.
Peace comes from within. ✌️
