Al-Bashar Center for Quranic Memorization has proudly unveiled the results of its recent Quran competition that unfolded last month.
Participants were tasked with presenting a five minute video of them reciting the longest verse of theQuran, Suratul Baqarah verse – 282.
In a statement made by the pioneer of Al-Bashar, Ustadh Mutohir Abdul-Hamid, he said, “This competition is not only organized to celebrate the mastery of Quranic recitation but also to serve as a testament to the enduring commitment of individuals to preserve and honor the Quran by following and intigrating it teachings in their daily life.”
The competition which kicked started at the mid of Ramadan drew participants from various Nigerian universities.
Among the nine contenders, comprising four sisters and five brothers, with different array of renditions of Hafs, Khalaf an Hamzah and Warsh were used by the participants.
The rigorous assessment of the Quran competition was processed by Ustaz Idris Olaide Adebisi, a distinguished scholar and Hafidh who is adorned with multiple accolades and certifications.
After a meticulous scrutiny by the judge, the following outcomes were unveiled:
Qoosim Ayoola clinched the coveted first position with an impressive score of 96 points, while Muneeroh Abdulhameed trailed closely behind, securing the honorable second spot with 94 points. Not far behind, Olasupo Abdullah gracefully claimed the third place, amassing 93 points for his profound recitation.
Abdurrazzaq Masturoh’s remarkable performance earned her the fourth position, garnering a commendable 92 points. Meanwhile, Aisha Nurudeen exhibited exceptional skill, seizing the fifth position with a notable score of 91 points. Muhammad Nasir’s adept recitation prowess secured him the sixth position, earning him 90 points.
In a unique turn of events, both Nasirudeen Toyeeb and Aisha Abdurrazzaq found themselves sharing the seventh place, each earning an admirable 89 points. Wrapping up the leaderboard, Abdurasaq Ibraheem Adekunle’s remarkable recitation earned him the eighth position with an impressive 87 points.
It has come to light that the three most outstanding participants in the competition will be granted monetary rewards as follows: the first-place winner will receive a generous sum of ten thousand naira, while the second-place achiever will be awarded seven thousand naira, and the third-place contender will receive five thousand naira. These rewards serve as a token of appreciation for their dedication demonstrated in the Quran competition.
