A four-day cease-fire in the ongoing Israel-Palestine war began Friday in Gaza as part of a Qatar brokered agreement. Thirteen Israeli citizens, 10 Thai citizens and one Filipino citizen were released, Qatar said. Israel also released 39 Palestinian prisoners later in the day.
Amani al – Hashim, a mother of two, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2018 after Israel accused her of trying to ram her car into a checkpoint, an allegation she rejects.
She said “Any Palestinian who gets close to a soldier is considered to have committed a crime,” .
Amani al-Hashim says she is still in shock. “I feel like I’m in a dream; I can’t believe that I’m in my house, surrounded by my family”.
As dpathtojannah.com monitor the developing stories around the released Palestinians and hostages from the October 7th attack, it is noted that the main stream media in the West and religiously charged African countries like Nigeria, seems to concentrate more on the hostages released by Hamas with only sparse mention of the plight of Palestinians released, many of whom have been languishing in Israeli jails for the very flimsy reasons.
The speech President Biden while addressing the press on the latest developments on the cease-fire on Friday, also failed to mention Palestinian women and children being released from Israeli captivity. No mention of the Palestinian dead and destruction of Gaza. It was as if they don’t really exist.
