The Osun State Muslim Community (OSMC) has appointed new executives to pilot the affairs of the Muslim community.
It was gathered that Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi has been reappointed and returned for second term of another four years as the President of
OSMC.
The OSMC Shura Committee led by Sheikh Abdulteef Abdulazeez Olayinka dissolved the past executive and issued letter of appointment to the new executive members.
Imaam Sadiq Bello, Alhaji Abolusodun Abibullahi and Alhaji AbdulLateef Olayanju were appointed as first, second and third Vice-Chairmen while Alhaji Abdul Ganiyy Akeredolu was appointed as Secretary General with Mr Adelakun Nureni as Assistant Secretary.
Alhaj Arogunmosa Yaqub was appointed Financial Secretary and with Oyedele Kolawole as Assistant Financial Secretary, while Alhaja Ramat Omisoore was appointed the Treasurer and Asifa AbdulHameed as Auditor.
Former Chairman of Correspondent Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Mr Hameed Oyegbade was appointed the Public Relations Officer (PRO 1) while Alhaja Sidikat Bello was appointed as representative of Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN).
In his address, the OSMC President, Olawuyi, expressed gratitude to all Muslims and Islamic organisations in the state for their support during his first term, calling on Muslim Ummah in the state to unite and cooperate in promoting Islam and defending the rights of Muslims.
He said: “We are grateful for the unflinching support all members of the Muslim organisations, including all active local government chapters of OSMC who did positive wonders in ensuring peaceful coexistence, protection and unrelenting efforts fighting for Muslim rights and culture.
“My appreciation goes to the successive governments of this State for their support especially during the annual Hijrah celebrations.
“OSMC relates perfectly with the regional Islamic body MUSWEN and enjoyed tremendous support from its leadership especially our indefatigable President Alhaj Rasaki Oladejo, his amiable deputies Alhaji Ebiti and Alhaji Sonaike and the Executive Secretary, Prof Yahya Muslih. We are grateful.”
