Mr. Musa Onifade, an Islamic Activist who is the Secretary General of Ijesha Muslim Community, Ilesha, has condemned the killing of a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Samuel who was burnt by irate youths in Sokoto.
Deborah, a level-two female student, was accused of making a social media post that blasphemed the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), a crime for which a mob killed her.
The horrendous event led to a great outcry, especially on social media outlets, with many Nigerians condemning the act and asking that law enforcement agents ensure that the perpetrators do not escape from the long arm of the law.
Joining many in their call for justice, Mr. Musa Onifade in an interview with Dpath To Jannah Media Hub urged the authorities to make sure legal actions are taken against those who killed Deborah.

Mr. Musa Onifade: I like my religion most. I pray may Allah preserve me upon it.
On the issue of alleged blasphemy that is currently trending in Sokoto, what is your view on it?
Mr. Musa Onifade: Muslims should be tolerant as our Noble Prophet(saw) used to be.
If the Prophet (S.A.W) could allowed that the word ‘Prophet’ should not be added to his name when he (S.A.W) was signing a peace treaty with the unbelievers; what blasphemy could be more that? Then why can’t we emulate him and admonish the lady, perhaps she might even accept Islam due to our patience. The lady’s admission to paradise should be of our concern more than her entrance to hell.
The jungle justice melted on her is barbaric and uncalled for. The perpetrators of the inhumane act should be brought to justice and properly dealt with accordingly to serve as deterrent to others.
Allah’s forgiveness is sought.
What is your advice to the Muslim youths?
Mr. Musa Onifade: They should have a projection for their lives, stick to the plans to achieve this projection(s). Shun anything that will derail their focus, seek advice from qualified and knowledgeable experts and following them accordingly. Lastly, they should be patient and prayerful for Allah is always with the patient ones.
