A Letter To My Muslim Jambites By Mutohhir Abdulhamid Olanrewaju
As it stands, UTME result is out. Alhamdulilah! Congratulations brothers and sisters in Islam. It is obvious that not every one that wrote UTME will pass or fail.
As Muslims, we need to build a big corner in our hearts that everything comes from Allah. We should have that strong faith in whatever befalls us.
Using myself as a case study, I started writing utme in 2013, after which I got admission in 2018.
Are you surprised!? Don’t be! There are people who wrote more than I did but still, they persevered. That aside, the most important thing you need to notice is your preparation and solid plan for UTME. Some of you will be happy today and others won’t be. Why? UTME is the cause.
There are some people writing it for the first time, some are writing it for the second time and the trend continues like that.
All you need is to understand that getting admission into any higher institution is one of the ways to have a successful life. There are other ways to becoming successful but education is the best.
Allah says in Chapter 2 verse 216
___وَعَسَىٰ أَن تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَىٰ أَن تُحِبُّوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
___and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know.”
This verse shows that Allah knows everything that we know and don’t know. So we don’t need to stress ourselves over anything that befalls us rather, we move closer to Allah, keep glorifying him and keep striving for the best for indeed Allah knows that which is best for us. As the saying goes thus: “Do your best and pray towards the rest.”
And if you fail that is not the end of life, don’t grieve over your failure for indeed you have been blessed for many things in life. Keep moving in life either having scored as expected in UTME or otherwise, prepare your mind that not everyone will gain admission into Universities, Polytechnics, colleges of education and other higher institutions. All you need is to ensure you keep trying and put utmost effort in whatever you do and Allah will crown your effort. Baarokallohu feekum
